Happy New Year everyone!!!  As far as 2014, I could have done without so many IVs but hey I wasn’t in the hospital at all in 2014 so for that I am thankful.  I am excited to see what 2015 brings.  I hope it brings longer spans of time between IVs for one.  Secondly, I hope that I can keep my running streak of no “lock up/Club Med/hospital stay” going, 18 months and counting. 

It has been a busy few weeks around here.  We have had family here for 2 weeks so we have been running around showing them Tennessee while trying to have some down time as well.  The final family visitors will leave on Saturday morning.  It will be back to reality and the normal routine.  I have loved having family here but I am also ready for our normal routine.  I’m ready for school to start so that the teenager in the house can have be back in his routine and sleep schedule.

We had a great Christmas.  The kids got what they wanted.  My husband and I love seeing the look on their faces when they open their gifts.  Now all of the Christmas decorations inside and out have been taken down and stored away.  We rang in the New Year at home while playing games with the family and watching the ball drop.  It was a great way to bring the year to an end.

Today I started the TOBI podhaler for my 28 days on.  So far so good except that when I did my first dose this morning I breathed in too fast and about passed out from coughing.  In case you didn’t know, breathing in is an art.  I go from breathing pretty much normal in and out with the Duo Neb and Pulmozyme nebulizers then to Symbicort with a spacer and breathe in slow and steady, then to the Tudorza that I have to breathe in pretty strong to get it to work.  Finally, I did the TOBI podhaler where you have to breathe in slow and steady.  Well I breathed in fast and strong and about choked to death.  Lesson learned.  I was just on auto pilot and didn’t pay attention to switching meds.  Oops.

I have a CF clinic appointment on the 22nd to check how this new regimen is doing.  I feel like the Tudorza is helping.  I don’t want to jinx myself by saying so but I said it.  haha  I think that will do for an update for now.  I hope you all had a great holiday whatever it is that you celebrate.  Thank you for checking in on me.  I appreciate your support very much.
