It is CF Scholarship time again.  For students with cystic fibrosis (CF), an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system, transitioning to college can present many new and unique challenges. For some, this is their first time being responsible for getting the appropriate nutrition and following their treatment regimens on their own.

Today, AbbVie announced the opening of the application period for the AbbVie CF Scholarship program, continuing its tradition of celebrating students with CF as they pursue their educational dreams. Since its inception in 1993, the program has awarded nearly $3 million in scholarships to deserving students across the country.

AbbVie will select 40 exceptional students to receive $3,000 for use during the 2018-2019 academic year based on their creativity, academic excellence, community involvement and the ability to serve as a positive role model for the CF community. These 40 recipients will also be given the opportunity to compete for a total of $25,000 for use toward education-related expenses through one of two AbbVie CF Scholarship award categories: Thriving Undergraduate Student and Thriving Graduate Student.

 Applications will be accepted from now until May 9, 2018 and are available online at:www.AbbVieCFScholarship.com. Students can apply online or by downloading an application on the scholarship website.
